A Transcription System from MusicXML Format to Braille Music Notation
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Internet enables us to freely access music as recorded sound and even music scores. For the visually impaired, music scores must be transcribed from computer-based musical formats to Braille music notation. This paper proposes a transcription system from the MusicXML format to Braille music notation using a structural model of Braille music notation. The resultant Braille scores inspected by volunteer transcribers are up to the international standard. Using this simple and efficient transcription system, it should be possible to provide Braille music scores via the Internet to the visually impaired.

Proposal for a Performance Data Format
The paper discusses an interchange format for performance data and corpora. We compare the widely accepted XML-based formats for music notation, WEDELMUSIC XML and MusicXML. We propose adopting MusicXML as our interchange format and show an example using it. Last, we suggest a small change to MusicXML for our purposes (MusicXML(4R)) and present a tool for generating MusicXML(4R).

متن کاملLessons from the Adoption of MusicXML as an Interchange Standard
Around 2000, many people realized that XML technology could be a great way to finally create a successful interchange format for music notation and digital sheet music applications. In the past, adoption of music notation interchange formats had suffered from both technical and social problems. Previous efforts like SMDL and NIFF never met their goals of becoming a standard music notation inter...

This paper discusses the SCORE data format, a graphically oriented music representation developed in the early 1970’s, and how such a representation can be converted into sequential descriptions of music notation. The graphical representation system for the SCORE editor is presented along with case studies for parsing and converting the data into other symbolic music formats such as Dox, Humdru...

We conclude by discussing the new types of musi...
